Technical Data Analyst - Remote Opportunity

Position Overview
The Technical Data Analyst will manage a complex set of client and system data related to state government business registrations that will be utilized for market research, prospecting, and order fulfillment automation. In this role, you will interface with Software Development, Automation, Marketing, and other Data Analysts to facilitate the use of data to derive outcomes and drive business decisions. The ideal candidate has experience creating data warehouses and developing data integrations as well as utilizing business intelligence tools to monitor data accuracy and cleanliness. Success will be measured by the candidate’s ability to propose technically sound solutions, deliver key projects on schedule, and maintain an accurate set of data that will be used by our business on a daily basis.


Responsibilities
 

  • Develop a deep understanding of state government business registration data and how it is utilized by Harbor Compliance.
  • Normalize data acquired from multiple sources (i.e. flat file download, API calls, etc) and consolidate into a structured format.
  • Coordinate with business stakeholders to define data cleansing, manipulation, and aggregation plans.
  • Proactively audit the data to identify data mapping and data integrity issues.
  • Produce ad-hoc queries and reports requested by stakeholders to facilitate software development requirements gathering efforts.
  • Define integration points between the data warehouse and Harbor Compliance’s custom software.
  • Build and maintain business intelligence dashboards and reports to communicate status and highlight improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with appropriate Tech teams to manage security mechanisms and data access governance
  • Develop new or improved business processes based on data analysis.

Qualifications

  • BS in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Extensive experience writing SQL queries.
  • Experience with a statistical programming language such as Python or R.
  • Experience creating reports and visualizations utilizing Business Intelligence tools (ie. Tableau, Metabase, etc).
  • Knowledge of data gathering, cleaning and transforming techniques.
  • Technical expertise in data warehousing, data modeling, database design, and ETL techniques.
  • Experience with cloud based data tools.
  • Experience with both structured and unstructured data.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Familiarity with state government corporation data available through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) is a huge plus.
